Kilian grew up in the Pyrenees and started climbing mountains at the age of three. He burst onto the mountain and trail running scene in his late teens, winning his first of ten Sky Running World Series in 2007. The following year he won the prestigious UTMB for the first time. He would go on to win three more between 2008 and 2011.
It's hard to find a major trail race or mountain race that Kilian hasn't won. He's been crowned champion at Western States, Sierre-Zinal, Pikes Peak Marathon, Zegama, Hardrock, Marathon du Mont Blanc and many, many more. Perhaps what makes Kilian so special as an athlete is that he's world-class not only in running but also in ski climbing, a discipline he's competed in since 2002, winning European and World Championships in all age groups along the way.
Kilian lives in Rauma, Norway with his wife Emelie Forsberg – who is also a COROS ambassador – and their two daughters.
