Swedish Emelie Forsberg is one of the most accomplished all-around mountain athletes in the world – focusing on trail running and ski climbing. Emelie originally identified herself mostly as a climber, before she started running in the mountains for pure enjoyment. She competed in her first serious trail race in 2009 and has since been among the world’s best at high-altitude distances. Emelie’s career as a ski mountaineer began a few years later, in 2012, when she jumped into a race on borrowed skis and finished in third place. Since then, she has finished on the podium in several competitions at the European and World Championships. Emelie gave birth to her and her partner Kilian Jornet’s first daughter in March 2019 and their second daughter in April 2021. She now has her sights set on returning to training and competing at the highest level in 2022 and beyond.
Emelie has published the book “Skyrunner: find balance, strength and joy in your running”. Forsberg has also published the book “Diary from Moonvalley” together with Ida Nilsson and Mimmi Kotka, with whom she runs Moonvalley.
Emelie Forsberg currently lives in Rauma, Norway, with her husband Kilian Jornet and their two daughters. Jornet is also an ambassador for COROS.
